Top 10 Must-Do Outdoor Activities Near Condo
After spending so many years at North Coast Village, we’ve learned that Oceanside is at its best when you’re outdoors. Here are some of our favorite ways to enjoy the sunshine, the coast, and the slower pace that always brings us back.
Beach
The beach right outside the condo is where we spend most of our time. The sand is wide and soft, the waves stay gentle, and it’s easy for families to settle in for the day. Morning walks and sunset picnics are our little rituals.
Pier
We never get tired of walking the Oceanside Pier. It’s one of the longest on the West Coast, and whether you’re watching surfers, checking out the fishermen, or just enjoying the breeze, it’s always worth the stroll.
Harbor
The harbor has its own charm—boats gliding in and out, sea lions sunbathing on the docks, and plenty of places to grab a bite. You can wander the shops, rent a paddleboard, or simply watch the water.
Surfing
Oceanside is a true surf town. The breaks near the pier are great for experienced surfers, and several local shops offer lessons for beginners. Even if you don’t surf, it’s fun to watch the morning lineup.
Fishing
Whether you’re casting from the pier or booking a half-day boat, Oceanside makes fishing easy. We’ve done both over the years, and each has its own charm. The harbor boats are well-run and great for families.
Whale Watching
During the right season, the whale-watching tours are unforgettable. Gray whales, dolphins, and even the occasional blue whale pass through. It’s peaceful, scenic, and gives you a whole different view of the coastline.
Golfing
For golfers, there are several nearby courses with ocean breezes and beautiful views. Even if you’re not chasing a perfect score, it’s a relaxing way to spend a morning.
Biking
Rent a bike and cruise along the Strand. The ride is smooth and easy, with the ocean at your side and plenty of spots to stop for snacks or photos. It’s one of the simplest ways to see Oceanside.
Hiking
If you’re craving a little nature beyond the beach, there are quiet inland trails not far from town. Nothing too strenuous—just fresh air, sunshine, and a nice change of scenery.
Oceanside has a way of inviting you outside, whether you want adventure or just a peaceful walk. After all these years, we still find joy in the same simple moments, and we think you will too.
