One of the things we’ve always loved about Oceanside is how simple it is to keep the whole family entertained. Back when our kids were young, we always looked for places that were fun, close by, and didn’t require an entire day of marching around. Oceanside still checks all those boxes.

Legoland is the big one, of course. It’s only a short drive from the condo, and even as grandparents now, we still smile watching little ones marvel at those tiny brick cities. It’s colorful, creative, and easy to do at your own pace.

Closer to home, the harbor is perfect for families. You can rent paddleboards, grab an ice cream, watch the sea lions sun themselves on the docks, or just wander through the shops. The beach right outside North Coast Village is gentle enough for kids to splash around, and there’s plenty of space to spread out.

If you’re up for a short walk, the Oceanside Pier is always a hit. Kids love spotting surfers, and if you make it to the end, you’ll get one of the best views of the coastline.

We’ve hosted our own grandchildren here many times, and somehow every visit feels a little magical. There’s just something about Oceanside that brings out the curious, adventurous side in everyone.
